Following
the success of the previous years' events, the Maria
Wörth equestrian center now tops it international horse
show program: aside from showjumping stars from many
different nations, this year will also see the arrival
of many international dressage riders to fight for a
total of 125 000 Euro prize money at the Lake Wörther
location.
Showjumping Stars from around the World come to the 4th
International Horse Sports Festival at Maria Wörth
From June 25th through 28th, 2009, stars of the
showjumping world gather at at Lake Wörth location to
compete at this lavish, 3 star showjumping event. In its
fourth year, the even now has a name and even Hugo "The
National" Simon has almost made it a tradition to take a
few days off and some to the beautiful Maria Wörth
location. His countrymen and women also want to take a
bite off the 110 000 prize money cake, which is
considerable, and so almost the entire elite who's who
of Austrian showjumping comes to the event each year.
International competitors come from pretty much all over
the world, right down the alphabet of nations: starting
from A for Argentina and going all the way to U for the
USA. In four of the classes, there is a race for the FEI
ROLEX world ranking points and for qualification for the
European Championships, to be held at Windsor (GBR) this
August.
Anyone having that much to over is bound to have to
qualms letting the world watch, too, and for this, there
is a specialist team from ClipMyHorse, spanning seven
members. Via Livestream, those who could not travel to
the event, whether they are national or international
spectators, can follow the event until the wee hours of
night, often with up to four cameras, on

27.06.2009: Emanuele Gaudiano wins jumping
over 1,40m |
|
Young Italian rider
Emanuele Gaudiano had
participated for the
first time in an
European Youngster
Cup competition and
was able to win
first time! In
today's European
Youngster Cup
competition of the
S* category, the
fast Italian showed
his fellow
competitors where to
go: with a splendid
time, he virtually
sailed over the 1.40
course on his only
7-year old Holstein
gelding Chicago.
Each turn, each
distance seemed to
fit and, in the end,
he came through with
a wonderful time of
64.92 seconds that
nobody was able to
match. The one rider
who came closest was
the still leading
rider of the series,
S* category,
Carina Hindelang
(GER) on her 11-year
old Almox Prints
daughter Promi
Model. Despite a
very professionally
ridden round,
however, she
remained almost 4
seconds behind the
Italian speed master
but had still almost
one second over the
third placed rider,
Maximilian Schmid
(GER) on Cuckoo.
Once more, from an
Austrian viewpoint,
the "Tyrolean
Connection"" made
up of
Theresa Widauer
and
Christoph Obernauer
stood out. The
bubbly Tyrol-based
Widauer placed 4th
on her 13-year old
mount Laguna Bay and
6th with the gelding
Kleo's Quicksilver
who is only 7-years
old.
Christoph Obernauer,
riding the 8-year
old Looping
offspring Landiego,
placed 5th.

European Youngster Cup U25 |
Supported by the
Hindelang freight company, young talents in
the saddle across Europe are increasingly
receiving ever more attention. The European
Youngster Cup is on tour, from top event to
top event and has since long left its early
stages of merely being auxiliary
entertainment to be big classes. Established
riders now come by as interested spectators,
provide hints and tips and take the
youngster and their opinions seriously:
Nowadays, the European Youngster Cup is
considered an honor to have by the
organizers of the shows where it is held and
so the International Horse Sports Festival
Maria Wörth is also pleased to host the
EYCup for the second time in a row, bringing
fresh and youthful influx to the show.
The 10th leg of the European Youngster Cup
Tour 2009 started off today with the
preliminary qualifier over 1.35 m, with 30
riders from different nations having turned
out to compete.
Georg Christoph Bödicker (GER), the renowned
course designer, left nothing to be desired
in the course right from the start. In the
end, it was Italian rider
Emanuele Gaudiano
who had a premiere win. The former European
Young Rider Champion won with Chicago,
befóre
Carina Hindelang
(2nd place) and Christoph Obernauer (4th
place).
Anna Blum
and Carlo placed 3rd.
