02.07.2009: European Youngster Cup Opening - Bavarian Riders go for it! Triple Victory in the European Youngster Cup Opening

Maximilian Schmid was the last rider to compete today. The European Youngster Cup stopped off in Austria once more and the Theresian Military Academy provided a wonderful environment to the up and coming riders for their series. On his 15-year old gelding Kenzo des Hottieres, the Bavarian rider really turned up the volume and with just about 60 10th of a second managed to win before his riding colleague Wolfgang Puschak (GER) on Uchiel. "You just have to take it how it comes," Puschak said, taking it easy. "Next time, I will be in front again." Schmid, on the other hand, was ot only overjoyed about his win and the valuable special prize from Thomas Szabo but also commented that it was great to have been granted the opportunity to really let his horse gallop in this course.

Third place, also, went to Bavaria. In the saddle of his 12-year old mount Bugatti, Michael Eichler had done very well in the challenging course by course designer Christoph Georg Bödicker. He went clear and came in with 70.80 seconds, then collecting a second ribbon, for 5th place, on Riva Loona. Best Austrian rider today was Lower-Austria based Stephanie Kisling once more, in the saddle of her Bavarian gelding Arry. She said said that she was proud to be allowed to ride here at the Theresian Military Academy. "This is the most beautiful course I have ever seen," she commented after her ride
